YOU ARE NOW KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES!

Welcome to Room #114!  I am your English Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Amanda Jones.  I will be teaching 6th grade READING.  I look forward to working with you throughout the 2021-2022 school year!

I live in White Oak and am married to my husband, Keith Jones, of twenty-four years.  We have two boys, Dylon and Gavyn.  My oldest, Dylon, is currently a senior at Schreiner University in Kerrville on a bass fishing scholarship.  He is pursuing a degree in dentistry and, after this year, will soon be applying to dental school with hopes of specializing in orthodontics.  My youngest son, Gavyn, is currently a junior at WOHS.  He plays on varsity in football and baseball for the White Oak Roughnecks.  Family is important to me, and from time to time I’ll share hilarious episodes of my life at home.

I have two pets Stumpy, my three-pawed orange tomcat, and Bocephus, “Bo”, my Texas Blue Lacy.  They are both “Mommy’s Babies.” LOL!  You will hear stories about them as well.

My philosophy is EVERYONE can learn! NO EXCUSES!  I will work for you to figure out what way works best for you.  All I ask is you give me 100% EFFORT.  I try! You try! We succeed! I also ask that you be 100% honest when you truly don’t understand a concept.  I don’t know unless you tell me.  I’m here for you.

Please know we will cover a lot of concepts this year and WARNING!!!

IN AMONGST THE CHAOS OF LEARNING CHALLENGING CONCEPTS IN 6TH GRADE READING, YOU WILL PARTAKE IN LAUGHTER ALONG THE WAY!

I know many do not get excited about reading or writing; however, I will try my best to make it entertaining and engaging.  Can’t wait to start our journey!
